Chapter 3
Charles rode his bicycle up to the mansion around ten in the morning, having to wait for Winston to buzz him in through the gates. Except for his very first day of work when the butler had been out, he had to go through this annoying ritual of waiting to be let in. Winston had told him that he would eventually get his own key card so that he could let himself in, but it was taking some time to get a copy made.
After waiting a couple of minutes and finally getting an answer and being let through, Charles rode his bike right up past the front of the mansion, down the side towards the pool area. As he rode along the grass, he realized that that side of the pool was the view that had been taken in those scandalous paparazzi photos a few weeks ago. As he rode by, he looked out across the estate to see if he could see where they were taken. He saw the road curling far off in the distance in that direction, and realized that's where the photographer must have been, but as he looked at the pool area he saw a grove of trees that would have made the shots impossible. He looked puzzled for a moment, until he noticed the earth around the trees was mostly bare with just a light scattering of new grass, and realized they must have been transplanted there recently after the incident. It gave Charlie hope, as he wondered if her renewed privacy would encourage Lara to go about topless again.
"It just makes me uncomfortable, Winston," Lara said.
"There's no reason to feel that way Miss Croft. It's just a simple exercise. If he mentions anything, we can feel more at ease. If not, it wouldn't be unexpected for someone his age. Just a reason to keep a closer eye on him, nothing more," Winston explained.
"He's just a boy," Lara said worriedly. "He's harmless!"
"Maybe so, but you know that everything I do is for your own good. I would think that by now you'd know that," Winston said.
"I know," Lara said in a defeated tone.
"Now speaking of your own good... have you thought about developing that social life yet?"
"Oh please, Winston! You know I'm far too busy to think about that right now," Lara said with a little frustration in her voice.
"Not too busy to spend time working out, or lounging around the pool or studying old writings, it seems," Winston said.
"Those are things I do for myself. If I want to work out to improve my fitness and my looks, that's up to me. If I want to lounge around to de-stress from nagging butlers, that's my choice as well," she said, rolling her eyes at her long-time servant.
Winston regarded Lara for a long moment. She started to feel a bit uncomfortable and was about to speak until Winston spoke up.
"Do you know that little event you once mentioned you wanted plan, the one you wanted to hold in order to make some connections with professionals in your realm of expertise?" Winston said.
"Yes... " Lara said with suspicion in her voice. "What about it?"
"I've arranged it for this Friday."
"Winston!"
"And it's not a business gathering, it's a formal dinner party," Winston continued.
"Winston!" Lara protested. "I can't-"
"Everything is taken care of, the invitations have already been sent and replied to. You should prepare a flattering outfit appropriate for a formal social gathering. A number of young aides affiliated with your university connections will be present," Winston said with a tone of finality, not even waiting to hear Lara's protests as he turned on his heels and walked away.
Lara was left standing with her hands on her hips, mouth open in shock and completely unable to respond. Her blood boiled and she decided now would be a good time to relieve her stress with a quick swim.
Lara went to her bedroom and stepped into her walk-in closet, rummaging through the corner where she kept her swimwear. She pulled out her favorite little white bikini, then paused as she realized today was one of Charlie's work days. She buzzed Winston on the intercom system.
"Charlie is supposed to be working today, is that right?"
"Yes, Miss Croft, I let him in this morning. He should be at the pool now. Is something wrong?"
"No, not at all. I was just wondering," Lara said, throwing the little white bikini on her dresser.
"Will that be all?"
"Yes. No, wait... were you going to give him that little test today?" Lara asked with concern in her voice.
"Yes, I was planning on it," Winston replied.
"Alright. Just don't make a fuss, whatever happens. He has such a timid nature. I don't want him to feel anxious about coming to work," Lara said.
"Of course not, Miss Croft," Winston said.
"Thank you."
Lara went back into her closet and pulled out a one-piece swimsuit, black and much more modest than the tiny thing she had almost set her mind on.
"I can't believe I nearly walked out in that," she spoke to herself, casting a glance at the white bikini on the dresser as she undressed. "As if he needed any more reason to ogle me," Lara said with a smile as she looked over her naked form in a full-length mirror, turning to admire herself from various angles before slipping on the swimsuit and heading outside with a towel.
Charles was walking around with a hose, spraying some water on the lounge chairs and scrubbing them with a soapy sponge to clean off the dirt and stains left over from reclining oiled bodies. From the corner of his eye, the opening of the doors to the pool area caught his attention and he felt his breath catch in his throat as he saw Lara walking out onto the deck for the first time. She was wearing sunglasses and a tight-fitting black swimming costume, her hair pulled back in a ponytail and a towel draped over her arm.
"Good morning, Charlie!" Lara said with a cheery smile.
"Good morning Miss Croft!" Charlie said, his face beaming with a wide smile and blushing a little bit.
Lara giggled a bit as she watched his happy, red-faced expression and noticed his quick little glances up and down her body. Once again, she felt the little thrill of admiration warm over her and she was glad she had decided to come out to the pool today.
"You've been doing a wonderful job, Charlie!" Lara said as she patted him on the shoulder.
Charlie felt goosebumps as her hand lightly tapped him and her fingers caressed gently down his arm before pulling away.
"Thank you," he said, grinning sheepishly.
Lara looked around for a place to sit, but all the seats were wet.
"It looks like there's not a dry seat anywhere," Lara said, setting her towel and sunglasses down on a table.
"Oh, I'm sorry!" Charlie said with a look of unease.
"Don't worry! I really came out for a swim anyway."
"This will be the first time you use the pool since I've been working here, Miss Croft," Charles said with a smile.
"Right you are! Thank you for taking such good care of it," Lara said. "You know, you're free to use the pool yourself if you like."
"No, I'm not very keen on swimming," Charlie said, his smile fading.
"You don't like swimming? That's odd. I thought all kids liked to go for a swim and splash around," Lara said as she walked to the edge of her pool and dipped her foot in the water.
"I've just never really enjoyed swimming," Charles said as he turned his attention back to the dirty deck furniture he was spraying.
"Oh, come now, I don't believe it!" Lara said, turning back towards him with a skeptical look on her face. "What's wrong? Don't you know how to swim?"
"Yes, of course," Charles said quietly.
"That didn't sound very convincing," Lara said with a smirk. "What if I were to... throw you in the pool? Would you be able to keep your head above water?" She said, her smirk becoming more mischievous.
"I would!" Charles said, almost with a shout.
"Well then," Lara said, striking a pose with her hands on her hips. "You won't mind if verify that claim, will you?"
"What?" Charles said, looking worried.
Lara took a couple of strides in Charlie's direction and he suddenly looked very worried.
"No! What are you doing?" Charlie said.
"Why, I'm going to throw you in the pool, my dear!" Lara said, moving quickly towards him.
"No!" Charles said as he suddenly pointed the hose in Lara's direction, stopping her in her tracks. "I'll turn the hose on you! I will!" he threatened.
"Oh, really? I don't think you'd dare to-" Lara said, moving slowly towards him again.
"No!" Charlie yelled as he squeezed the trigger of the hose and sprayed a burst of water at Lara, wetting her with a wide spray from her face and across most of her body.
"Oh!" Lara gasped in shock as the cold spray shocked her. She never would have guessed that the meek little boy she knew would have the courage to actually do that to her. "Why you little... " she exclaimed, moving towards him again.
"Ah!" Charles squealed with laughter as he let loose another spray of water, aiming for Lara's face. He drenched her thoroughly, as she tried to dodge his aim, leaving her sputtering and turning away. "I-I'm sorry!" Charles said immediately as she turned back to glare at him menacingly.
"You've really cocked it up now, boy," Lara said, gasping for breath. Her heart was thumping in her chest as she stood there, sputtering and dripping with ice-cold water.
Charles' heart was also thumping hard as he realized what he had just done and feared for his job, if not his very life. Lara wiped her face and stroked a few wet locks of hair back on her head, standing with her hands on her hips again, while Charlie kept the hose trained on her. Her chest heaved and Charlie's gaze was drawn to her chest as her large tits glistened in the shiny wet fabric of her black swimsuit, her chilled nipples protruding noticeably after her cold soaking. Lara noted his gaze and shook her head. He wasn't very good at stolen glances.
"Like what you see?" Lara asked with a tone of annoyance.
"Huh? What?" Charles replied with a grunt.
"These," Lara said as she cupped her large breasts in her hands to emphasize what she was referring to. "Do you like what you see?"
Charlie's mouth opened to say something, but no sound left his lips as his gaze was drawn to Lara's wet cleavage swelling out from her swimsuit as she gently lifted her breasts.
"Never mind," Lara said as she turned and made her way around the pool deck, walking away from Charles. "I'll get you back later. I may as well go for my swim now, seeing as how you've drenched me with that freezing cold water!" Lara said.
"I-I'm sorry, Miss Croft! I-" Charles started to say.
Lara suddenly bent down and grabbed at the length of hose that trailed along the deck, whipping the end of it right out of Charles' hand and pulling it away from him.
"Now," Lara said, her mischievous smirk returning to her face, "you are going to pay for that!" she said as she sprinted towards the boy.
"Ah! Noooo!" Charles squealed as he turned to run away.
Lara laughed as she chased after him. Charlie took refuge behind a table, as Lara took her position on the other side, ready to scramble around it.
"I'm s-sorry!" Charles yelled, his voice half-laughing and half-trembling in fear.
Lara grabbed the edge of the table and overturned it, casting it aside. The look on Charles' face was priceless, she thought, as he gaped at her, realizing he was about to get thrown in the pool. Lara lunged forward and grabbed him by the arms, dragging him across the pool deck while he struggled against her.
"No! No!" he yelled incessantly.
"Yes, it's only fair!" Lara said. "You drenched me. Now I get my revenge!"
"B-but you were going to throw me in first!" Charles' pleaded.
As they struggled with each other, Lara pulled him closer and closer to the pool's edge. Somehow Charles managed to get his feet tangled in behind Lara's, tripping her. They both fell in a heap, Charles landing on top of Lara, his face falling squarely into Lara's wet, yielding breasts.
"Oh!" Lara gasped as she had some of the wind knocked out of her and felt her breasts cushioning the weight of Charlie's head as they fell to the deck. "You little bugger!" she exclaimed as he lifted himself off of her with a look of shock on his reddening face.
"I-I'm sorry!" he said, unable to look her in the eyes as he lifted himself off of her.
Lara grabbed him by the shoulders and threw him to the side, rolling herself over and swinging her long leg over him, reversing their position as she now straddled him.
"You should be sorry," Lara said, as she pinned him down by the shoulders.
Lara's heavy tits hung below her, attracting her young employee's gaze once more, as he was able to see right down her cleavage.
"You cheeky little pervert! I've noticed you can't seem to keep your eyes off of them," Lara said with a playful laugh.
"I-I-m-"
"Sorry, right?" Lara said, finishing his oft-repeated phrase.
Lara released her grip on Charlie's shoulders, sitting up on her knees and putting an arm across her breasts to deny him any more ogling. She sat back on him with her ass to keep him pinned down, but as she did, she suddenly felt that she wasn't sitting across his stomach, but his hips. She felt a firm nub of pressure beneath her as she settled down on him. Charles gasped and his whole body tensed. She felt the crook of her ass filled with the hard length of the erection in his shorts and she quickly lifted herself back off of him.
"I-I'm sorry," Lara said with wide eyes as the two stared at each other awkwardly. Now Lara felt her face growing hot with embarrassment.
Suddenly the two of them heard the click of shoes down the pool deck and heard a familiar voice. Winston was approaching the pair and he gave Lara a disappointed little shake of his head as their eyes met.
"I hardly think it's a fair fight against someone much younger who doesn't work out every day like you do, Miss Croft," the butler said.
"I-I didn't mean to," Lara said, flustered as she straddled Charles on her knees, keeping her ass well off of him. She glanced at Charles and took a quick look down at his shorts. The unmistakable lump of his hard cock was very apparent, but her legs straddling either side of his hips were shielding it from Winston's view.
"He deserved it," Lara said nervously. "He was spraying me with the hose."
"Mm-hm," Winston hummed as he eyed her disapprovingly.
Lara wanted to get up, but she couldn't without making the situation even more embarrassing by exposing Charles condition. She had an idea as she moved off of Charles, still shielding his embarrassing condition from Winston, and quickly grabbed him up, slinging him over her shoulder.
"I said I was throwing him in the pool, so in he goes!" she exclaimed.
With that, she walked to the edge of the pool while Charles squealed something unintelligible and jumped in with him.
Lara came up to the surface first, followed by a sputtering Charles. She looked over at Winston, who was now shaking his head disapprovingly at her. Lara's face was still red with embarrassment.
"How much had he seen?" she thought to herself. She knew he couldn't have seen Charles' erection. She thought she could still play it off as innocent playfulness.
Lara looked behind her and saw that Charles was still sputtering and splashing about with his eyes closed. He could barely keep his head above water.
"Hold on Charlie," Lara called out as she swam over to him and grabbed him under the arms, swimming him back to the edge of the pool. He reached out and grabbed the edge, taking deep breaths. Lara climbed out and walked over to Winston.
"Was there something you wanted?" she asked.
"That was very shameful of you, Miss Croft," Winston said quietly as he looked over at Charles. "Treating him like that."
"What do you mean? I-I wasn't-"
"Really, Miss Croft," Winston said, walking away as Lara followed after him.
Charles hung on to the edge of the pool, still too aroused to get out onto the deck, especially after watching Lara's dripping wet body and her gorgeous backside as she walked off with Winston.
Lara and Winston stepped just inside the mansion and continued their conversation.
"How could you do that to a timid young lad like him?" Winston said, wagging a finger at Lara.
Lara stood there dripping, speechless and red-faced as Winston berated her.
"I saw you dragging him along and overpowering him," Winston said. "He seems like a nice boy, but he's very shy. You shouldn't be making him feel even more insecure by doing things like that," Winston said.
"I didn't think there was anything wrong with it," Lara said defiantly. "I was only playing around with him," she said, beginning to get annoyed with her manservant. He was scolding her like a child.
"You mean, asserting your dominance over him! He looks like he could be the runt of a litter, not very strong, and the last thing he needs is for a woman to embarrass him further on that point by overpowering him... and throwing him in the pool!"
"I-" Lara started.
"And then having to save him from drowning! You thoroughly embarrassed him. I could see that by how red-faced he was. You should apologize to him, Miss Croft. We want him to have a good experience working for us. Do you have any idea how he must feel being bested by a woman? No offence to your strength and skill, Miss Croft, but if his mates heard about this they'd be teasing him to no end about how he was beaten by a girl."
"I wasn't trying to belittle him in any way," Lara said, relieved that it didn't seem as though Winston had noticed the embarrassing condition she had provoked in the boy.
"It's his first job. We agreed that it would be a good opportunity to give a young student a wonderful experience. This is supposed to be a character-building experience for the lad, not a blow to his self-esteem. Do you really want this employment to be one of those horrid, demeaning jobs that he looks back on with disdain, complaining to his mates about what a horrible guv he was working for?" Winston asked.
"No, of course not! I just never thought of it that way," Lara said quietly. "I apologize, Winston," Lara said, looking down at the floor. Somehow he was able to make her feel thoroughly embarrassed, even though she was far beyond the age at which a dressing down should make her feel like a little girl being scolded.
"Don't apologize to me! I trust you'll make it up to him somehow," Winston said.
"Yes, I'm sorry. I'll... think things through next time," Lara said.
"I was going to hand the boy his first paycheck and try our little test," Winston said as he pulled an envelope from his breast pocket. "I'll do it later today just before he leaves. Let's hope he doesn't hold your actions against you. Tell him to come see me before he leaves."
Lara looked worried as she looked back out to the pool area and saw Charlie drying himself on the deck.
"Well?" Winston said.
"What? Oh yes... I suppose I should, um, go apologize to him," Lara stuttered.
Winston nodded solemnly and turned away down the hall.
Lara watched Charlie as he hung his wet shirt on the back of a chair and began drying his hair with a towel. She took a deep breath as she stepped back outside and walked towards him. He looked up at her with some trepidation as she approached. Lara smiled warmly to try to help put him at ease. As she walked toward him and looked him over, she thought that Winston was right. Charlie was small, barely over five feet tall and 100 pounds, soaking wet as it were, and she felt so sorry for him as she saw the anxious look on his face, which reddened noticeably as their eyes met. His slim body, supple-looking, but starting to develop some shapely musculature, shivered. His eyes sparkled at her and his towel-tousled hair made him look like some kind of sad but cute, shivering wet puppy. He was adorable, Lara thought, and her feelings of guilt deepened as she considered Winston's words.
"Hi," Lara said.
"Hi," Charlie said, not able to look her in the eyes even though he wanted so desperately to take in the sight of her beautiful face and her wet, swimsuit-clad body.
"I wanted to apologize for all of that," Lara said nervously, shifting on her feet.
"That's fine, Miss Croft," Charlie answered, still looking away as he resumed drying his hair.
There was an awkward silence for a moment.
"I mean apologize for chasing you around and throwing you in the pool. I didn't know you really couldn't swim at all," Lara explained.
"I can!" Charlie protested. "I just... you jumped in with me so suddenly and I couldn't get my bearings for a moment there under the water, and I-I... panicked."
"Really? Because I thought that maybe it-" Lara took a deep breath as she suddenly realized what she was about to say. It wasn't what she had in mind when she decided to try to smooth things over.
"Maybe you shouldn't be working around a pool, Charlie," she said with a look of concern on her face.
"I can swim!" Charlie shouted, looking at her angrily. "I just got caught off guard! With you throwing me around, and then Winston coming and you were..."
"About that," Lara said with a grimace, "I'm sorry too."
"About what?" Charlie asked with feigned ignorance.
"You know, when I sat on you. I'm sorry. I should have been more careful."
"Oh that," Charlie said, looking away, his face reddening once again.
"Please, don't feel bad about it. I mean, it's a normal thing for a boy like you. Completely normal! I shouldn't have sat on you like that. Please accept my apology!"
"Of course Miss Croft," Charlie said quietly. "I couldn't help it. It wasn't my fault!"
"Of course not!" Lara said earnestly. She tried to lighten the mood. "It was all my fault. I know I fill out this swimsuit rather well," she said as she ran her hands down her sides. "In fact, I should think I'd feel rather upset if your willy hadn't greeted me the way it did!" Lara said with a widening smile that broke into laughter.
Charlie grinned and giggled along with her and they both felt the tension ease. After the laughter there was another small moment of awkward silence before Charlie suddenly looked up at Lara.
"You are very pretty," he said quietly with a sweet smile.
Lara felt her heart melt as she sensed his sincerity.
"Oh... thank you Charlie!" she said as she leaned in toward him and gave him a hug.
It wasn't much of a hug. It was barely an embrace, but in the brief moment that her arms encircled him, her cheek brushed against his, and her large breasts gently pressed against his bare chest, Charlie felt a prickly shiver run through his whole body. Lara moved away from him and looked at him seriously again.
"Are you sure you can swim?" she asked.
"Yes! Well, I may not be the best swimmer, but I can get along fine, as long as I'm not being thrown in upside down and sideways!"
"Show me," Lara said, "I want to make sure I don't come along one day and find you floating in my pool!"
